A manifestation of catholic origin with great participation by the population. Many celebrations occur through out the many streets and neighborhoods of the city. The party is characterized by the decoration of the festival areas, by the quadrilha-type dance, performers and groups singing with the typical instrument of São João — the accordion. This is also a time when dishes from the interior part of the state of Bahia are served through out the city.
